Alexander is a little boy who lives in one of the poorest areas of Leon, Nicaragua with his grandmother and father. Alexander’s mother abandoned him while his father was serving in the military.
Because of Sponsorship through Project Hope Worldwide Alexander is safe, has nutritious meals, attends school, has access to medical attention and receives spiritual/character mentorship. Alexander enjoys coloring and drawing.

Léon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. The country is considered the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere. 80% of its people live on less than $2 a day and the infant mortality rate is 25%. Years of war between the Sandanistas and the Contras combined with failed government policies have severely hindered their economic development. Project Hope Worldwide is holistically caring for orphans, partnering with schools, supplementing medical care, and providing spiritual and character mentorship, in one of the poorest areas of Léon.
