Estefany is a girl who lives in one of the poorest areas of León, Nicaragua with her mother, older sister Abigail and older brothers Moises and Lorenzo and a new baby brother. Estefany’s father abandoned the family and provides no support and her mother sells fire wood to make ends meet. Estefany is full of energy and happy to join her older siblings at our Hope Project.
Because of Sponsorship through Project Hope Worldwide, Estefany is safe, has nutritious meals, attends school, has access to medical attention and receives spiritual/character mentorship.

Léon is the second largest city in Nicaragua. The country is considered the second poorest in the Western Hemisphere. 80% of its people live on less than $2 a day and the infant mortality rate is 25%. Years of war between the Sandanistas and the Contras combined with failed government policies have severely hindered their economic development. Project Hope Worldwide is holistically caring for orphans, partnering with schools, supplementing medical care, and providing spiritual and character mentorship, in one of the poorest areas of Léon.
