Project Hope Worldwide’s new Latin America Director, David St. John and board member, Dan Gibson, went last week to continue to develop our project in Juarez, Mexico. Our focus in Juarez will be securing a safe home for each orphan as well as securing food, education, medical care, and spiritual and character mentorship.Dan

This is how we are meeting their holistic care:

Safe Home – Each family home where are our orphans reside receives ongoing mentorship, resources, and encouragement.

Education – In Juarez, public education is not free and only the familes that have income are able to be educated. As a result, we are securing all of our orphan’s school fees, supplies, and uniforms so that they have an opportunity to be educated! In addition, all of our kids will have access to an after-school tutoring program.

Clean Water – We are working in an area that used to be known as a ‘squatting community’. These areas are highly discriminated against by the government which is denying the ability for any water wells to be drilled in their community. Instead, this community has to ‘buy’ contaminated water off of large trucks the government sends to them weekly. We are working on a plan to lobby the drilling for clean water. In the meantime, we have secured water filters for each of our host families.

Food – Each month our host families receive food supplies that ensure the household has enough to eat. This makes the orphans a blessing to their homes and not a burden.

Medical Care – Partnering with a local medical clinic, Project Hope Worldwide is securing ongoing staffing so that the orphans’s medical needs will be met as well as the community.

Spiritual Mentorship – We are developing a spiritual and character development  program that will provide  ongoing mentoring to our orphans as well as those in the community.

We have many orphans in Juarez that are in need of sponsorship. Contact us today and we can get you started with saving a life and holistically transforming these orphans!
